What were your feelings as you walked off the field for the last time as a member of the Union Local Football Team?
I remember thinking to myself WoW it's been a long time coming, but I’m not ready for it,this can’t be my last time playing with all my brothers. It never really set in, that things were going to be over until I took that first step off of the field, it was a very Surreal feeling. I still can’t believe it is over.
What are you going to miss the most from playing high school football?
The Friday feeling - There was nothing like waking up at 6am,putting your jersey on and going to school with your boys. The feelings throughout the day as the hours were counting down, there was nothing like it. Then heading to the locker room, locking in to play your tail off after a long week of school, it was like an escape.
Which win meant the most to you? Explain.
There were so many to count, an honorable mention would be my sophomore year on the road at Weir, when Coach Thompson got thrown out of the game. That game was electric to say the least. If I had to pick though, Nelsonville York on the road for Week 1 of the playoffs would be the one. That game was one I will never forget. Winning week 1 on the road to host a second round home playoff game and making Jets history is a moment in my life that I will always be thankful for, and I am beyond grateful for the young men who played beside me that made it possible.
Which loss stung the most? Explain.
Wheelersburg I have to say hurt the most. After losing to Barnesville a few short weeks prior, then Wheelersburg knocking Barnesville out of the playoffs, we were counted out before the game even started. I remember hearing people say we were going to get blown out, but that was far from what happened. We went into that game prepared both physically and mentally, we battled our tails off for 4 straight quarters of backyard football. It came down to a last minute hail mary, unfortunately we didn’t come down with it. I was beyond proud of the team, Coaches, and fans that came out that night.
Who was the best player that you faced in a game, along with the team he played on?
If I had to pick I would say Rashid Sesay was the best Player I have ever played against. He played for West Muskingum.
Who was the best team that you faced, along with the thing that made them so good?
I would have to say for 4 straight years the Saint Clairsville Red Devils were the best team I played against. They were very well coached every year and they were some of the most football smart kids I have ever played against.
If you are invited to play in any of the all-star games, will you?
Yes, 100 percent, I would love to play in the all-star game to represent my team, my family, and my coaches.
Football, track, or wrestling: which one do you feel you are the best at?
I would definitely say football. I enjoy football the most out of the three.
As a high school athlete, what has been your biggest moment?
I would have to say coming into a program with great leaders around me, to shape me into the young man I have become today. From taking a 5-5 team to a 9-3 second round playoff team my senior year all while taking college classes.
As a high school athlete, what was your most embarrassing moment?
My most embarrassing moment would have to be from my sophomore year, I played MLB and would always hop out of my stance instead of taking my read steps.
What has been the best and worst part of the recruiting process?
The best part of the process is seeing all of my family's reactions when I go visit a college. There is nothing like it. The worst part by far is trying to make the decision on the school I am going to call home for the next 4 years.
Can you name some of the schools that you are hearing from, along with any offers you have?
I have offers from Heidelberg University, Mount St. Joseph University, Otterbein University, McPherson College, and Bethany College. I am beyond grateful for all and everything the recruiting process has done for me.
What scares you?
There isn’t much that scares me, but I would have to say things that are out of my control scare me.
What is your favorite home-cooked meal?
I would definitely say my favorite home cooked meal is Spaghetti. There is nothing better than coming home to my mothers wonderful Spaghetti.
What is your favorite sports movie or show?
All American is one of my favorite shows in general, not just sports related.
