What were your feelings as you walked off of the field for the last time as a member of the Bethel-Tate football team?
My feelings when I walked off the field for the last time as a Bethel-Tate Tiger were mixed, as I was still happy from the win we had got on senior night but still had sadness knowing the fact that I knew it was my last time as a Tiger.
What mark do you believe your class left on the football program?
I believe the mark my class left on the program was how to preserve it. We had a few very great years, but some were not as good years, but we continued to work hard throughout it all, and I think that will stick in the program for a long time.
What was the biggest lesson you have learned in playing sports?
The biggest lesson I have learned from sports is that there is always going to be conflict in life, but it’s just a matter of if you are going to buckle down and try to push through your problems or if you are just going to pack it up and quit.
Now that the high school portion of your football career is over, what, if anything, would you have done differently?
What I wish I would have done differently is taken everything seriously from the start. Like my freshman year, I wish I would have put in more effort instead of just going through the motions. I feel like that would have bettered me in the long run.
Which game will you remember the most? Explain
The game I will forever remember is when we upset our rivals, Williamsburg, in my junior year to end their perfect season and to help us get into the playoffs. Nobody believed that we would win that game, and that just made the victory taste even sweeter.
Which win meant the most?
The win that meant the most had to be either that Burg game or the Blanchester game that same year in the playoffs.
Which loss stung the most?
The loss that stung the most had to be this year against Williamsburg, as it eliminated us from playoff contention.
What was the high point of the 2024 season?
The high point this season had to be when we went on a 3-game winning streak to start league play off with wins against East Clinton, CNE, and Blanchester.
What was the low point?
The low point of this season had to be Week 5 against Batavia, as they beat us 83-0 to avenge what we did to them 3 years ago when we beat them 82-0.
Who was the best team you played, along with the thing that made them so good?
The best team we played had to be Wyoming, I’d say, because they just are a well-built program with great coaches and great players all around. It was for sure a tough matchup for us.
What has been the best and worst part of the recruiting process?
The best part of the recruiting process has to be being able to go and see the programs and campus in person on visits; it is just such a fun experience, and the worst part has to be when you realize that a school isn’t recruiting you anymore but never really tells you.
Can you now let us know of some of the schools that have recruited you, along with any offers you have?
I have offers from Knox College and Mount St. Joe, and some other schools that have recruited me are Muskingum, Wittenberg, and Wilmington.
What scares you?
What scares me is not knowing what the future holds, as nobody knows where they will be in 5-10 years, and it's kind of scary to me to think about.
Who are your role models?
My role models are, well, I have to obviously start with my dad, as I have looked up to him ever since I was born. My other role models are my coaches, Coach Essig, Coach Price, Coach Havran, and Coach Fisher, as they are all stand-up guys and are great people.
If there were no internet or cell phones, what would you do?
If there were no internet or cell phones in the summer, I’d be outside fishing and doing other hobbies I can find, and then year-round I’d be in the gym working out.
