(Basketball) Waverly Tigers roar in win over Logan 58-47

Albany, Ohio Waverly came in just 2-3, while Logan was 1-5; both teams desperately needed a win to try and change the early season atmosphere. Neither team looked like a team that had struggled in the early season just going off of their effort and tenacity, as both were moving up and down the court showing a competitiveness one would not expect to see from two teams that were struggling.

The Tigers would lead by just one after one, 15-14. In the second quarter the Tigers outscored the Chieftains by 7 to lead 30-22 at the half. The second would be much of the same, with both teams playing hard with the Tigers winning 58-47.

Leading the Tigers with 26 points was sophomore Teagan Hurt. He had four three-pointers and hit 8 free throws for the game. Freshman Kage Alexander added 13 points, including a three and 5 free throws.

Logan, who hit five three-pointers, was led by Hudson Edwards with 19 points, including three three-pointers. Junior Owen Bell added 11 points with one three-pointer.
