Noblesville Lions 24 C4 Lions 00
Marion Ind- On Saturday after noon, the Great Lakes Christian Athletic Conference held their league tournament at Indiana Western University at Widcat Stadium. The game to see who would take fifth place pitted the C4-Lions from Ohio against the Noblesville Lions from Indiana. Both teams have close to thirty players on their rosters, but neither dressed more than 20 yesterday.
Things got started when Caleb Taylor ran for a 24-yard run to move the chains for Noblesville. Taylor then caught a 16-yard touchdown pass from Lance Hoffeditz to end the 6-play, 66-yard drive to make this a 6-0 game with 7:48 left in the first quarter.
The Noblesville offense was at it again with a 16-yard run from Sully Stadler with 4:48 left in the quarter. What looked like another completion for Hoffeditz turned into a fumble recovery by Asa Bailey when the receiver coughed the ball up at the 3:56 mark of the quarter.
Kejour Reed would run for 17 yards, then connect with Stephen Wright for an 18-yard catch later in the drive to get things moving downfield. The drive hit a snag at the thirty-second mark when Reed was sacked by Sevie Stadler for a loss of six.
Reed would get sacked for the second time by Sevie Stadler with 7:10 left in the half for another loss of six due to a bad snap. C4 would get a 14-yard run from Pierson Freeburg, but the drive would come to an abrupt ending when Reed was hit by Grant Davis, causing the ball to hit the turf, and making the recovery for Noblesville was Josiah Chris with 1:58 left in the half. Just four seconds later, Noblesville would turn the ball over when a bad snap caused the ball to hit the turf, and making the recovery for the C4 Lions was Jordan Trammell on the Noblesville 9-yard line.
On the ensuing drive, CF would go for it on fourth and goal from the four-yard line; the result was a loss of three when Ezra Collier was taken down by Hoffeditz with 0:39 left in the half.
Just fifteen seconds left in the half, Hoffeditz had hit a pass tipped by Reed and intercepted by Braylon South.
The clock read 6:14 left in the third quarter. Taylor picked up 17 yards on a nice run. The drive ended when Hoffeditz found Nick Wheeler for a 10-yard touchdown, making this a 12-0 game.
The teams traded interceptions the last 38.4 seconds of the quarter. Getting the pick for C4 was Stephen Wright, and for Noblesville was Nick Wheeler.
Noblesville would use two runs totaling 33 yards by Sully Stadler to set up the next score that came on a 1-yard run from Stadler to make this an 18-0 game as the P.A.T. was blocked by Stephen Wright.
Owen Kokenge was picked off by Cooper Olecki to give Noblesville the ball with 7:35 left in the game. Ken Young would connect with Wheeler for a 35-yard touchdown, making this a 24-0 game. The PAT was blocked by Bailey.
