My night game on Saturday took me from Bellaire to Harding Stadium in Steubenville, Ohio. The battle would be Steubenville Catholic Central hosting Conotton Valley. For two smaller type schools, I have to say the crowd was big and vocal.

S.C.C. would make the first big play of the game when Kyran Busic sacked Rockets quarterback Zachary Putnam for a loss of four. Putnam shook of the sack with a 25-yard completion to Kamden Wright. Wright turned out to be a thorn in the side of the S.C.C. defense a lot this night. Putnam found Brooks Bower for 11 yards, then he capped the drive off with a 25-yard touchdown throw to multi-talented Gavin Haney. Coltin Hott was true on his P.A.T., making this a 7-0 game with 5:56 left on the clock.

On the ensuing kickoff, Haven Ralston took the ball back 55 yards to the Rockets 20-yard line. It took The Crusaders had 6 plays to get into the endzone, with Jimmy Hernongoing the final 3 yards to make this a 7-6 game with 2:37 left on the clock.

Peyton Rauch would get a sack on Putnam for a loss of 14 yards. The Crusaders at times seemed to be in the Rockets backfield as soon as Putnam took the snap. Putnam once again shook of the sack, this time with a 31-yard strike to Haney. Putnam found Wright for a 26-yard touchdown, making this a 14-6 game with 1:10 left in the action-packed opening quarter.

With 10:24 left in the half, Haney ran for a gain of 17 yards, showing his versatility. A sack by Rauch on Putnam cost the Rockets 14 yards with 8:52 left. Putnam again shook the sack when he found Brookes Bower for the 62-yard score to make this a 21-6 game.

With 21.3 seconds left in the half, Hernon capped off a 13-play, 65-yard drive with a 2-yard score. A two-point conversion attempt was successful, with Tommy Pergi doing the honors to make this a 21-14 game.

Putnam was able to use his feet to pick up 14 yards forty seconds into the third, but the drive fizzled out a short time later. The Crusaders would get a 78-yard run from Matthew Sprochi, making this a 21-20 game. The P.A.T. was short off the foot of Rauch.

The theme of Putnam being sack and shaking it off continued late in the third. Nate Irvin recorded the sack, and making the reception was Haney. This one was for 65 yards, taking the ball to the Crusaders 1-yard line. The PA announcer gave Luke Smith credit for the 1-yard touchdown run, but the PAT was blocked by Johnny Kostecki, leaving this a 27-20 game.

The final play of the third was a 75-yard touchdown run by Pergi to make this a 27-26 game. Putnam picked off a two-point conversion pass.

Putnam hit Brooks Bower for 19 yards and then Haney for 14 yards, taking the ball down to the Crusaders 4 yard line. Putnam found Garrett Reiter for the 6-yard score, making this a 34-26 game with 8:01 remaining.

The DL BURNWORTH play of the game came with 7:17 left in the game, with Kaden Leggett making a leaping, falling down interception. A 20-yard run from Haney followed by a 31-yard Haney touchdown run would make this a 40-26 game with 5:38 left.

Leggett made another pick with 4:54 left in the game. On the ensuing drive, Haney rambled for a gain of 18 yards. The 6-play, 42-yard drive ended on a 3-yard touchdown run by Putnam with 1:59 left to make this a 47-26 game.

One final interception by the Rockets Reiter secured the impressive win.
