With this being your final go-around as a high school football player, have you been preparing any differently? Explain

I have been hitting the weight room extra hard and keeping my nose in Hudl while watching the film.

What or who got you started playing football?

I watched a lot of football growing up, and it really struck my interest because it involved hitting other guys and being physical.

What are your personal goals for the 2024 season?

1st team all state, 1st team all taac for both offense and defense 

Which game are you looking most forward to this season?

Ottawa hills

Offense line or defensive line, which do you feel you are best at?

Defensive line because I’ve had more experience playing there, starting as a freshman.

Offense line or defensive line, which is harder to prepare for?

Offensive line, you don’t really know how a defensive end is going to perform a move when you get into a game with him.

For a lineman, which type of weather is the worst to play in?

Extreme heat would have to be the worst, because I exhaust myself way sooner than if it were cooler out.

What is the best part of being a lineman?

The best part about being a lineman is being able to be the guy setting up big plays for your boys.

Which teammate is the toughest to go against at practice?

Mason Pinkham has been there with me all my life, lifting me every day, and he is very similar in size.

What is your favorite part of practice?

My favorite part of practice is lifting in the morning and helping coach the younger kids on the team.

What is the best part of being a student-athlete at Edon High School?

It’s a small town, so word gets out about who the athletes are, and people who you’ve never met will come up and talk to you, so I find that to be really cool. 

Who is the best player that you have ever faced in a game, along with the team he played for?

Jack Vicente, Ottawa Hills. This kid was an absolute monster and the strongest kid I’ve ever faced.

What is your favorite sports movie or show?

The Waterboy 

What are your plans after high school?

I’m planning to enter the work force, possibly in construction.

What is your favorite type of music?

My favorite genre of music is 90s rock.

  Braylon Sturgill Ironton High School LB/FB 2025 What were your goals entering the 2023 season, and were you able to achieve those goals? Our goal every year is simple: win a state championship.
