Note: Gahanna players, for the most part including two of their coaches have been great about giving me interviews. I just wanted to take the time to thank them for their time.

What are your personal goals for the 2024 season?

Some personal goals I have for the season are: I want to go all-OCC, all-conference, and all-state. I also want to have 45+ receptions for over 600 yards.

What goals are you setting for your team?

As a team, I just want us to be the best version of ourselves we can be. I want us to get better week by week and mature as the season goes on. I feel like if we can do that, the sky is the limit.

Which position do you feel you are best suited to play?

Tight end

Would you rather play your rival in the opening week or in week ten? Explain

Definitely week ten. I feel like, for one, we’re at our best, and a big win will carry on to the first week of the playoffs, and I feel like it’ll just mean a lot more.

Run blocking or pass blobking—which is harder for you to do?

Run blocking

The Lions have been so close to getting to the state final game. What will the 2024 team have to do better this season to achieve that goal?

I feel like this year, to take that big step over the road, we’re going to have to run on high motors every game and play every down like the person in front of you is an NFL player. I feel like when we take teams for granted and say, "Yk, it doesn’t matter; we won anyways, I feel like it’s a wasted week. I just feel like if every week we’re better than the last, we will go as far as winning it all.

What camps have you gone to so far, along with the biggest things you are learning at them?

I've camped at Saint Francis and Kent State. What I’ve learned so far is that you only get one chance to make a good first impression, so make the most of it and work your butt off.

What is the strongest part of your game?

The strongest part of my game is probably my knowledge of the game itself—what angle I can take to cut off a blocker and what leverage I can use on the linebacker to run this route but make him think I’m running this one. I just feel like I’m always a couple steps ahead of my opponent.

Which part of your game must you improve on the most to be a better player this season?

I feel like the biggest thing I want to work on this year is finishing every single block. I want people to turn on my film and be like, Jeez, that guy is nasty and doesn’t quit.

After the season is over, if you have earned a bid to one of the all-star games, will you play? Explain

As of right now, I’m planning on graduating in the fall and going and playing spring ball, so I probably will not be able to do so.

Who is the best player that you have faced in a game, along with the team he played for?

The best player I ever played against was my sophomore year when I played for Reynoldsburg, but thankfully I was grateful enough to team up with him a year later, my former teammate Diore Hubbard Gahanna Lincoln High School.

Who is the one teammate who is most likely to do something funny when things are a little tense at practice?

We’re only a couple practices in, but thinking back to last year, it was definitely my guy. Jake Grimm

What is your go-to snack?

Pretzels

Have you ever gone to a Buckeyes football game?

I went to Ohio State vs. Penn State in 2015.

What are your plans after high school?

After high school, I plan to play football and major in sports management. where ???    I haven’t gotten that far yet.
