How long have you played football, along with the reasons you continue to play?
I’ve played football since I was 4. It’s been 13 years since, and I still love the game. I grew up watching my big cousins play, and I would always ask my grandmother to take me to the Paris food ball game to go support James and Jamaun Clark. I continue to play my heart out and show my love for the game to show my little brother you can always take the sport route. I want to show him it shows and teaches him leadership, brotherhood, and more.
What was the high point of the 2023 season?
When our team had put all of our all-year experience to the side, we used it to motivate us in our run in the playoffs.
What will you miss the most from the 2024 class?
The trash talking and aggressiveness they all had
What are your goals for the 2024 season?
To have a state run and go far with this team, knowing that we have high hopes
Who was the best team you have ever played against, along with the reasons they were so good?
The best team I’ve ever been against has been Archbishop Hoban, located in Ohio. From the size of the players to the discipline in the talent that they had, they were fully prepared when we played them. They didn’t overlook us, and they had a game plan before, and they stuck to it for the whole game.
Which game are you looking forward to the most? I’m looking forward to?
Our week 2 rematch against Trinity
What is the toughest part of playing in secondary school?
I would say the hardest part is knowing that, as a secondary player, if you forget or mess up, it can cause a touchdown and a big turn in the game.
What is the toughest part of a Fredrick Douglass High School practice?
I would say the conditioning, but without practice, it stays intense and competitive.
Who is the best player you have ever gone up against in a game, along with the team he played for?
Damin Green from Bryan Station High School
Which type of wide receiver is the toughest for you to defend?
He is a tall but agile and fast receiver because of his long arms and quick feet. You could get physical, but when it comes to ball skills, their long arms would give them the advantage.
What is the strongest part of your game?
I would say my tackling or ball skills because I have speed; they can make me stay on top of our receivers, and my ball skills would help create turnovers.
If you are hearing from any colleges, could you name a few of them?
The only colleges that I’m hearing from at the moment are Lindsey Wilson and Georgetown.
What is your go-to snack?
Gushers
Who is your favorite athlete?
Denzel Ward
What's your dream job?
Being a high school coach
