O.T.

What were your personal goals heading into the 2023 season, and were you able to achieve those goals?

My personal goal heading into the 2023 season was to become a more well-rounded player by focusing on my technique as an offensive tackle and getting stronger in the weight room. Whether it was working on better footwork or focusing on my IQ as a tackle, these are the things I needed to focus on equally to evolve as a player. Although I am constantly looking for ways to evolve as a player, I have experienced a lot of growth by focusing on these particular goals. However, to my own personal standards, there is a lot more to accomplish.

Who was the best player you faced in a game during the 2023 season?

In my opinion, the best player I faced in the 2023 season was Elijah King, who played for Gahanna Lincoln High School. His length and speed made him a challenge on the field. He's a great competitor.  We battled it out all night.

Who was the best team that Pickerington North faced during the 2023 season?

In my opinion, the best team we faced during the 2023 season was Cincinnati Elder. They are extremely disciplined, and they play hard to the whistle. Although we beat them, I would still have to say they were the most challenging.

What was the high point of the 2023 season?

The high point of the 2023 season was going into the Gahanna game. We were 9-0, and the energy going into that game was extremely high.

What was the lowest point of the 2023 season?

The low point of the 2023 season was the Hiliard-Bradley game. We didn't play to our highest expectations. We were in our own heads and made too many mistakes. In return, that cost us the game.

Which road stadium during the 2023 season had the best overall atmosphere, along with what made it so good?

Gahanna Lincoln Stadium had the best overall atmosphere. It was extremely high-energy and loud. It was a sold-out stadium, and it was the first time since 1999 that two undefeated Central Ohio Division 1 teams were both competing for the OCC championship.

Which road stadium during the 2023 season was the worst to have played in, along with the reason it was so bad?

Westland wasn't hyped at all, and we blew them out, so it wasn't much of a challenge.

All-star games used to be such a big deal, almost an honor for the player. If you are invited to play in one, will you? Why or why not?

The All-Star games are an honor, and if ever invited, I would definitely play. There's nothing like playing against the best competition.

What is the toughest part of playing on the offensive line?

The toughest part about playing offensive line is that whenever a mistake is made, it's more noticeable. For example, when the quarterback gets sacked, it's game-changing, and the flow of the game runs off the offensive line.

What is the best part of playing on the offensive line?

The best part about playing offensive line is being able to protect my quarterback, being in synch with the rest of the offensive line, and playing as a unit.

What do you feel you need to improve on the most before the season starts?

Before the season starts, I would like to improve my strength by getting my weight room numbers up and getting a bit bigger.

Would you share with everyone some of the schools that are recruiting you?

So far, I've received an offer from Ohio Dominican University and have been invited to Youngstown State for spring practice. I'm grateful for my opportunities and look forward to more in the near future.

Who is your role model?

My dad is my role model because he encourages me to be the best athlete and person I can be. He also inspires me to be a better man by leading by example. I admire my father and will continue to make him proud.

What is your go-to snack?

I don't have a favorite snack. I enjoy anything I can get my hands on.

What is your favorite class or subject?

My favorite class is operations management, where I learn principles on how to operate a business and basic entrepreneurial skills. I enjoy this class because it will give me the skills I need to be successful in the real world.
