2025
Entering the 2023 season, what goals had you set for yourself, and were you able to achieve those goals?
To win the MVL, make the first team all Ohio again, and make a playoff run, we achieved the first two. We won our first playoff game but lost the second in a close game to Granville.
What were the high and low points of the 2023 season?
Low was after week 3 being 1-2, and high was beating our rival Sherdan and winning the league.
The last time we did an interview, you said that you were looking forward to your week-one game with Columbus DeSales. You guys played them much better than you did in 2022. What went wrong in that game?
2022 was my first game at QB since 7th grade. We didn’t really have an identity as a team, and they just destroyed us in every way, but we came into last season ready and with a mindset and unfortunately came up short.
What will you miss the most from the 2024 class?
The friendships and relationships I have with them have been some of my best friends since I can remember, and we lose a lot of our starters defensively.
What were you able to learn about yourself during the season that you can use to be a better player this year?
Just to play, don’t think about the negatives; don’t think about missed throws or a mistake; have a next-play mentality.
How did the basketball season go for you and the team?
It was a pretty good season; we won a district final and unfortunately came up short in a game I felt we should have won in the regional semis.
What must you improve on the most to be a better overall player this season?
Improving my running game and getting better and stronger in the weight room.
What have you been doing to help you become a better player?
This was my first week of the offseason for me. I workout at 6 before school, went hard in the weight room, and got my arm prepped and ready for spring practice coming up soon.
Do you feel that you and your teammates are role models for the younger players who come and root for you?
Yeah, for sure, Coach West says to always protect the program and build the program so we play the right way and try to be the best people we can be.
You are down five at the five, with enough time to run one play. What play are you calling?
Right now, with the team we have, I'm either calling a quick fade route to Keaton Hahn, who will go up and get it, or a whip route to the single receiver with a stick concept to the three receiver side.
After the season is over, if you are invited to play in any of the statewide all-star games, will you?
It really depends on whether I’m committed to playing somewhere or if I have offers, but either way, I would like to be part of it even if I’m not playing.
The recruiting trail has heated up for you. Would you name some of the schools that are showing interest in you?
Recently, I have talked to Butler and had visits to Eastern Kentucky, Youngstown State, and Ohio.
Where is your go-to spot to grab a good meal?
Roosters
When you are not practicing or playing sports, what are you doing for fun?
Hanging out with my guys or just chilling.
Do you post on or read stuff on http://SoutheasternohioPreps.com or http://Yappi.com?
No, I have not.
