Heading into the 2023 season, what were your personal goals, and were you able to achieve those goals?
Going into the season, my personal goal overall was to make a name for myself because I've been overlooked my whole life and had people doubt me multiple times, so proving myself was my main goal, and I completed it because I started getting some respect from the city and some division of interest.
What were the high and low points of the 2023 season?
My high points throughout the season were on a nine-game winning streak because everything was clicking, everyone was doing their assignments, and it helped us play better as a unit, which led to great results. I would say taking the few losses we had at the beginning of the season really molded us because it shaped us into men who faced a little adversity and bounced back.
Who was the best player you have ever faced in a game, along with the team he played for?
The best player I faced this season was Lukus McDaniels. He goes to Jeffersontown in Louisville, Kentucky. He has committed to Southern Illinois University. The guy is very talented and has the size any coach would love. Going against him was a great help to me with my game personally and made me better.
Who has been the best team you have faced, and why do you think they were so good?
The best team I would say I faced was North Oldham; they had a great game plan coming into our contest. They were well prepared, mixed up their defenses to slow me down, and they had a great offense that gave our defense some problems, so props to them.
What is the hardest part of a Desales practice?
I would say the hardest part is the whole practice. Our coach doesn't take it easy on us because he wants us to be great men, and nothing in life is given to you, which is why I appreciate him a lot. Practices are very similar to games.
What will you miss the most from the 2024 class?
The thing that I will miss the most is the bond we had. They were a great group of guys who were great leaders. So, it's going to be a tough feeling in their shoes, but I believe in my guys, and we can make it happen.
Which road stadium is the toughest to play in? Explain
Jefferstown, because the atmosphere was crazy, and both sides of the bleachers were filled and the back of the end zones were lined up with people, but it was very exciting to grind in that type of atmosphere.
Which stadium do you feel has the best overall atmosphere?
Our stadium is special because our support system is extremely good and plays a huge role in most of our wins.
What is your biggest strength as a receiver?
My biggest strength is how quick I am. I have great hand and eye coordination, and I try to separate myself from most receivers.
What part of your game do you feel you need to improve on the most?
The thing I would say that I need to improve on the most is my body. I'm not satisfied with it now, and I have really been focusing on that during the off-season.
What have you been doing during the off-season to help you improve?
I've been working on my mobility, little details on routes, building strength, and speed.
Where should the state finals be held?
Kroger Field
What is your favorite sports movie?
Like Mike
What scares you?
Not being great.
What is the one food you refuse to eat?
Blueberries.
