Image
Jayden Elston Gahanna Lincoln High School TE 2027 6'2, 220 Jersey Number: Last year I wore #83, but I plan on changing numbers. Awards won or earned: I lettered as a sophomore. How important is it to you that the team gets along together not only on the field but off of it too? I think it is very important. If you can't get along off the field, it's going to be hard to get along on the field. If we can't get along on the field, more mistakes happen, and that's how you can lose games. What will you miss the most from the 2025 class? I will miss all my teammates that helped me translate my abilities to the varsity level. The 2025 class definitely was the most helpful because of how much experience and skill they had. Any time I had a question about plays or how I could make myself better, I could always go to one of our seniors for help. What is the best part of being a tight end? The best thing about being a tight end is being reliable in both the pass game and the...

Eli Helton Big Walnut LB/RB 2026 5’11 215 Jersey Number 22 Awards won or earned: First Team All Ohio, District, County, Conference, and 2nd Team All Metro Is there a college or pro player that you pattern your game after?  I pattern my game after Fred Warner. He combines elite speed and range, physicality with leadership, and great IQ. In watching some of your HUDL film, it looks like once you make up your mind about where you are going, you look like a heat-seeking missile. How much of what you do comes from natural talent, and how much comes from film study and practice? I appreciate that. I’d say it’s a mix of both. The natural instincts definitely help. I’ve always had a nose for the ball and love to hit, but what really takes it to the next level is film study and practice. Watching film helps me recognize formations, tendencies, and keys that let me know what’s coming before the ball is even snapped. In practice, I focus on reacting fast and taking the right angles so...

Definitely their mentality and the way they approached the game. They played with intensity every day and always held me accountable. They pushed me to be better, and such leadership is something I appreciated. What did you learn about yourself last season that you can use to be a better player this season? I realized how much of this game is mental—about 70% mental and 30% physical. Strength and footwork matter, but they come from mental preparation. Watching film, studying the playbook, asking questions, and being locked in mentally and envisioning how the game will go made a huge difference in my performance. When the pressure's on, your mind is what gets you through. As the clock was winding down and you knew that your team was going to win the state title, what were your thoughts...
