Image
Anthony Nespeca Boardman High School Fb/Lb 2026 5, 10, 210 2-year varsity linebacker  When we last spoke, you had said some of your goals for the 2024 season were setting the record for the most tackles in a season, getting some college looks, and getting "Big Dog of the Week." Would you let everyone know which of these goals you accomplished? Well, I fell short of these goals this year, but next year I will have a fresh start to complete these goals. My goal this year is to run the ball and make as many plays as possible to benefit my team and lead us to the playoffs. When we spoke last, you also said you wanted to work on shedding off blocks so that your game would be stronger. Were you able to accomplish this? Yes, I was able to get better with them throughout the season with taking on blocks with the right shoulder, but there are a lot of improvements to come with this year. What was the high mark of the 2024 season? If I had to pick between having the best r...

For the Buckeyes they were getting baskets by multiple players as they were able to maintain their 10 point lead as the quarter ended, with the score 40-30. (Basketball)Johnstown Johnnies flush the Northridge Vikings 58-38

Image
  * Using records and rosters from Hudl, as it is almost impossible to get either from the schools.* Tonight I made the drive to Northridge High School in Johnstown, Ohio, to catch the rivalry game between the home team, the Northridge Vikings, and the visiting Johnstown Johnnies. The Vikings only dress eight players, so right away my thoughts were that fatigue and fouls could become a big problem for the Vikings. Heading into this one, the Vikings came in with a 4-7 record, while Johnstown was 6-4. The Vikings took a 2-0 lead on the only points that Carson Beaver would score all night. Neither team could get much going early, with the Johnnies leading 10-8 after one. Early on it was easy to see that the Vikings wanted or had to slow things down with each possession they had; it was pass, pass, pass, then pass some more before shooting the ball. The Johnnies seem to shoot as soon as any player has a shot. The second quarter would be more of the same as each team followed suit o...

(Basketball) Fredericktown extends winning streak to nine games with 65-57 win over Centerburg

Image
Fredricktown came in on an eight-game winning streak, supporting an 8-2 record. The Trojans came in 6-4, hoping to defend their home court. The Freddies would jump out to the 11-0 lead and were never really threatened. The Trojan would use a big fourth quarter to make the final score look close, as they never stopped giving a maximum effort. The Trojan's would total zero three-pointers on the day, while the Freddies connected six times from three-point land. I had the visitors hitting 14 free throws, while the home team hit nine. Jack Lawrence had a game-high 29 in the loss. He would get help from Trevin Harris, 13 points. The high scorer for the Freddies was Carson Reinhart, with 20 points. His top help came from Zane Luckmeier (14 points) and Gavin Tooms (13 points), including a two-handed jam. Follow me on X @HEARTLANDFAN15 On Facebook @ Burnworth David

Best part of the 2024 season? Easily the best part of the 2024 season was winning the OCC title and beating our rival Pickerington North. It was so awesome to chase down Coach Ward and dump water on his head for the win. That’s a hilarious memory I’ll keep for a long time. Toughest part of the 2024 season? The toughest part of the 2024 season was the pressure to perform and the kind of rough start we had at the beginning of the year. What surpri...
