Please post something from last season that sticks out to you. It can be from a game, practice, or something funny on the bus ride to or from the game. Any moment that sticks out to you.
Beating our rival Tinora twice. Once in regular season and again in the playoffs!!
What is the biggest reward for being a multisport student athlete?
The friends made and the people around the team. Fairview has a great community, so everyone is super close. It’s awesome.
What is the toughest part of being a multi-student athlete?
The hardest part is balancing training and schoolwork; you have to learn to sacrifice hanging out with friends sometimes and keep focused.
What has been the biggest lesson that you have learned from playing sports?
The importance of working hard and building relationships.
What has been your biggest moment as an athlete, in any sport, at any age?
Going to State last year and having the opportunity to repeat it this year.
Who has been the best player you have faced in a game, as well as the team he was on?
Carson Altimas from Antwerp my freshman year.
Where on the field do you feel you are best at?
Linebacker on defense and running back on offense, I feel confident and best at both positions equally.
What makes you a good teammate?
I’m very competitive, so I offer my team a lot of support and opportunities to get better any way I can so that we can win even more than we do now.
What are your goals for the season?
My biggest goal is to become a captain and to lead the team the best I can. I’d also like to get first team honors in the GMC.
What goals are you setting for the team?
For the team, I would like us to finally reclaim the GMC title, a feat we haven’t accomplished in over 6 years. I would also like us to make a deep playoff run.
With this coming season being your final high school season, will you train? any differently than you have in the past?
I’ve always trained the hardest I can so intensity-wise it’ll stay the same. As far as specifics, I’ve worked more on agility and route running. Shout out to my receiver trainer, Coach Blue Smith. As well as my strength trainer, Jimmy Philips.
Of all of the wins that you have been part of, which one has meant the most?
It’s tough to decide between three different games, so I’ll name them all. Tinora last year, because we'd lost to them the previous two years but came back last year and beat them twice. Wauseon sophomore year, because they killed us freshman year, so getting back at them to start the season felt great. And Edgerton, my freshman, because at the time, Fairview hadn’t won a game in almost two years, and it’s what got us back on the right track.
Which loss has stung the most?
Definitely Paulding both times this past year. During the regular season it took away our GMC win. In the playoffs it ended our season, so both stung.
What is a style or fad that your generation has that you do not get or understand?
Wearing loafers out in public. When I want to be comfy at home, I’ll wear them, but they’re just too ugly to wear out.
What is your favorite home-cooked meal?
My dad’s spaghetti. I’ll tell you what, if he started an Italian restaurant, he would have a bigger chain than Olive Garden just from that spaghetti.
What are you doing outside of sports for fun?
I lift with a bunch of my friends. We go up to our weight room about 3 times a week to lift, of course, and to do 4 on 4’s. We also go late at night just to add to that vibe; we love it.
