2034 Interview with Riverview (PA) junior senior high school Max Kratt

Max Kratt

Riverview junior senior high school

WR, DB, slot, KR

2026

5’9 ft., 155 pounds

Can you share with everyone any athletic awards you have won or earned?

I was my team’s offensive player of the year from the last for my flag team.

What are your personal goals for the 2024 season?

I have a driving goal to break our receiving yards in a season record at our school. I believe that if I hold myself to this goal, I can do it.

How did you get into kick-returning?

I was proven to be one of our fastest players on our team, which I guess our coach saw and put me back there to receive kicks.

Wide receiver or defensive back. Which one do you feel you are best at?

I feel that I am a better  wide receiver because I have good hands to catch the ball. This year, I am moving my position to be our slot receiver. In this position, I will be running and catching the ball this year.

Wide receiver or defensive back—which one is harder to prepare for? Explain

I feel that playing defensive back is extremely hard to be prepared for. This is because when playing wide receiver, you don’t know their next move and have to rely on your fundamentals to help you.

How often do you watch game films on your own?

Every week, I like to put aside 20–25 minutes to study myself and others on the field to help us prepare for the upcoming week and what I need to work on in game and in practice.

Who is the one teammate who is always serious, no matter what is going on?

I would have to say my quarterback, Rio Stotts, because he knows he has to step up and be a leader on this team. He has taken a big step in the right direction for this team and himself from a leadership standpoint.

What is the toughest part of practice?

I would probably have to say not having lines messes with our heads due to us having to guess our route depth.

What has been the highlight of your athletic career so far?

I would say playing both ways was my first year starting at varsity. This helped me understand the game very well and kept me going the whole way.

What type of weather is the worst for you to play in?

Our team and I can overcome any challenge, from small mistakes to big mistakes, and finally, weather. If I had to choose, it would probably be playing in the snow.

Where should the state finals be held?

I would probably have to say that it would be great for the state finals to be held at Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh or at Happy Valley (home of the Penn State Nittany Lions). It would be a great memory to have.

Who is the best player that you have ever faced in a game, along with the team he played on?

I would probably have to say Braylen Lovelace from Leechburgh Blue Devils my freshman year.

What is one food you refuse to eat?

I would have to say Brussels sprouts; there is just something about them that I don’t like at all.

Where do you go to get your sports news?

I usually go to the Trib Live for my sports news.

What is your favorite type of music?

I don’t really have a favorite type of music; I will listen to anything that is on the radio.
