What sports do you play for Riverview High School?
Football and basketball (rugby for Penn Hills as well)
Have you won any awards as a football player? If so, would you tell us which ones?
Lineman of the Year in Jr. High
How long have you played fooball, and who or what got you started playing?
I started in 7th grade, and the reason I started playing was so I could hit people.
O-line/MLB/DE Of the three positions that you are listed as playing, which one do you feel you are best at?
Defensive end I believe I am best at it because of the work I’ve been putting in specifically for that position, and everything feels like it just flows there.
Which position is the hardest to prepare for?
Definitely, LB, you have to see the whole field and know what everybody is doing before the snap and adjust at the last moment.
What are your goals as you enter the 2024 season?
Of course, the main goal is to win it all, but to me, being noticed for the work I’ve been putting in and executing comes game time.
What were the high points and low points of your 2023 season?
My high point of the season was executing and supporting my team in the games I started and not letting anyone down, despite my inexperience in varsity football. my low points on the other
hand was starting the season off slow, not starting, and being sort of in the background, but that was soon changed and continues to rise day by day.
What goals are you setting for your team this year?
I’m expecting everybody to put it all on the line for each other, and win or lose, we stay a family because that’s what it’s all about. In the end, if we can do that, we will be in the WPIAL championship, no doubt.
As an athlete in any sport, at any age, what has been your biggest moment?
It comes down to two moments, the first being when I played the last three quarters of our homecoming game, and that was my first varsity snap ever. Two is when I scored my first try playing rugby, which felt really good to accomplish after many failed attempts in the game.
What has been your most embarrassing moment as an athlete?
In my first ever football game, I remember we played Deer Lakes in 7th grade, and during the 3rd drive, I was running and got hit by some dude. I was super embarrassed.
Is there a pro or college player you try to pattern your game after? If so, who is he?
I’ve been watching Trent Williams for many years, and I do the drills he does pregame to prepare myself for the game. His craft is something every offensive lineman should study.
What is your game-day routine?
When it comes to game day, I don't really have a routine. I don't do anything special before the game, but I do listen to an awful lot more music that day, just to get my mind right.
What is your favorite class or subject?
My favorite subject is math. Everyone hates it, but I love it. Working with numbers is fun for me. When you solve a problem and all the numbers line up and everything works out, there is nothing more satisfying.
What toppings go on your burger?
I love myself some burgers. I really could go for anything on a burger; nothing is bad with a really good burger. My favorite, though, are pickles. I could eat pickles as my only meal forever.
What is your favorite type of music?
I enjoy all types of music; there isn’t much I don’t enjoy, but if I had to choose just one, I would probably go with chill music, just something you could relax to, like Tyler the Creator, which is especially a favorite.
