What has been the most difficult thing that you have had to overcome as an athlete?
My sophomore year, I had a minor knee injury and missed our playoff game. I had to work extremely hard in the off-season to get back to where I was.
As an athlete in any sport, at any age, what has been your biggest accomplishment?
My junior season, I was awarded lineman of the year out of 13 schools by Hugh White, and I was given a belt as well.
Who is the best player that you have ever faced in a game, along with the team he played on?
The best player I have ever played against in a game was John Grabans from FCA. He was extremely smart and massive.
Which teammate is most likely to go off when things are going poorly?
I wouldn’t say there is one specific teammate that would go off when things go poorly. On our team, everyone can get a little chippy when things go downhill, but my team is very disciplined, and we work well together, limiting the number of arguments and bickering on the field.
Looking back at only the road games that you have played in, which stadium had the best overall atmosphere?
I would say that out of all our games on the road, Waterford High School had the best atmosphere. There is only one reason I chose Waterford, and that is due to the fact that you could look around and just see that everyone wanted to win in that playoff game.
Staying with the road game theme, which stadium was the worst to play in?
The worst stadium I have ever played in was at Southern High School. This is mainly because of how notorious they are for having terrible referees. On top of that, their field is not very nice.
After the season is over, if you earn an invite to any of the all-star games, will you play in them?
I would undoubtedly take the opportunity to play in an all-star game if I was invited.
Would you rather open your season against your rival or face them in the final week of the season?
I would rather play our rival at the end of our season than at the beginning, not only because I like the tone of end-of-season games more, but also because I think that it makes for a better game due to the development that teams have at the end of the season with their playing experience with each other.
What are your goals for the 2024 season?
My main goals this year are to end the season with all the good snaps at center and get 100 tackles by the end of the season.
What goals are you setting for your team this season?
This season, my goals for the team are to go undefeated, become league champions, and win a playoff game.
What do you feel is the best part of your game?
I love to have a good balance between having a chip on my shoulder and showing sportsmanship in games. Being humble and showing sportsmanship will go a long way.
Do you feel that you are better on the offensive or defensive lines?
Although I am an asset to the team as a center, I feel like I am better on the defensive line. I ended the season with 68 tackles last year and hope to hit 100 this year.
Who are your role models?
My biggest role models are my parents and grandparents, who have always taught me to work hard and give all glory to God when I am blessed with success.
What is your favorite type of music?
My favorite type of music is country, but on game day, I like to pump up to some clean rap and a little rock.
What are your plans after school?
After school, I plan to become a power lineman and possibly play college football.
