You are a three-sport athlete at West High School. Would you share with the readers the poems that you play, along with how long you have played each?

I started playing football first when I was 4, then basketball when I was around 8. This was my first year doing track.

What is the toughest aspect of being a student-athlete who plays three sports?

I feel like the toughest part is managing your time the right way. There isn’t really much time off, so it gets kind of hard trying to balance everything out as well as having time for life outside of sports.

What are your personal goals for the 2024 season?

Some personal goals I have are really just to have a better season than last year. Last season was kind of rough, but I trust in all the work I and my teammates have put in, so this year should be a lot different.

West High School has struggled for a while now. What must the 2024 class do differently to be a better team this season?

We just all need to buy in, stay consistent, and continue to put in the work every day, not just when we feel like it.

In watching a lot of Columbus City League football, I have noticed that most teams have a smallish roster. As a player, what do you do to try and get your classmates to come out for the team?

The main thing that holds people back is grades, so as a player, if I can help people make grades, we can have more people coming out.

I know from looking at your Hudl page that you are listed as a conerback and wide receiver. Of those two positions, which one do you feel you are best at?

Last year, I would say wide receiver, but during this off-season, I put in a lot of work at the corner, so I feel like I’m better now at the corner.

Cornerback or wide receiver, which one is the toughest to prepare for? Explain

Cornerback is definitely the toughest to prepare for. It takes a lot of discipline and confidence to play a corner and be good at it.

As an athlete, in any sport, at any age, what has been your biggest moment?

My biggest moment was probably making the first team all-city in football and basketball. It’s been a while since something like that happened at my school, so I feel like it was bigger than just me.

Who is the toughest teammate to go up against at practice?

Delnavon Bailey

What is your favorite part of practice?

Doing competition drills against each other.

After the season is over, if you are invited to play in any of the all-star games, will you?

Yessir, absolutely!

Outside of sports, what do you do for fun?

Chill with friends and family.

What is your go-to snack?

Purple skittles.
