What is the best part of being a student-athlete at Bishop Canevin?

There is so much support and respect for each other; we have been very successful in all sports. It creates an atmosphere and standard that is carried throughout the entire school.

What is the toughest aspect of being a student-athlete?

Finding free time! It can get very busy, so at times it gets tough to find time for yourself to take care of yourself.

As a captain, what do you do to keep your teammates motivated?

Speeches and leading by example. I love talking to all of them to get them ready to go for whatever we are doing and then showing them how to get it done.

With this being your final year as a high school player, have you found yourself preparing any differently? Explain

I work hard every year, but this time around I did a lot of camps, extra training sessions, and extra lifts because it’s my last chance to prove myself. I want to make every day count.

What are your goals for the 2024 season?

Win another championship. Everything else will come into place, but the main goal is to win.

Looking at your Hudl page, you are a defensive tackle and a center. Which of the two positions do you feel that you are best at?

I am competitive at both, but my get-off gives me the edge on the defensive line, and I’m able to make bigger splash plays that really impact the game.

Defensive tackle or center, which of the two positions do you feel is the toughest to prepare for?

That's a tough question. You need to have a deep bag with a lot of tools for defensive tackle. On the other hand, center, you need to know the other offensive line’s responsibilities to be able to call out the play.

Who is the toughest teammate to square up against in practice?

Jaiden Collins. He's no longer on the team, but we would go back and forth until we couldn’t no more. I can’t wait to see him play in college!

Who has been the best player that you have faced in a game, along with the team he played for?

I never will look at it that way. I just go out and play like everyone is the same.

What has been your biggest moment as an athlete in any sport, at any age?

Getting a game-changing sack against Clairton in the semi-finals. Also placing 7th in states for wrestling.

After the season is over, if you are invited to play in one of the all-star games, will you?

Most definitely, any chance to play will be taken. I would love to get to showcase in an all-star game.

If you are hearing from any colleges, would you name some of them?

I did a lot of camps this off-season with looks going into it and more after, so I have been in contact with many colleges, like...
Duquesne, Youngstown State, Seton Hill, Lehigh, Yale, Drake, Butler, and more.

Have you ever attended an Allegheny College football game?

No.

Who are your role models?

Upperclassman and coaches from recent years at Bishop have been great people to look up to and learn from especially football wise being able to learn from them and use that have been really impactful on me as a person.

What is your go-to snack?

Cosmic Brownies
