What is the best part of being a student-athlete at Rocky River High School?
I haven’t started school yet, but the coaches and players have been really nice and supportive while we were moving.
What was the biggest difference for you when it came from playing JV football to playing varsity?
The speed of play and the smaller margin for error at the varsity level
What was the high point of your 2023 season?
Starting my first game against Benedictine and throwing my first varsity touchdown pass
Can you share with everyone some of the camps that you have attended, along with the biggest things you are learning?
Last year, we went to R4, Alabama, South Carolina, Vanderbilt, Tennessee, and Kentucky. This year I’ve been to QB IQ, QB Leadership, Quincy Avery’s Black Ops, Bowling Green, Build a Bridge, and will be going to Lock Haven University, HBCU College Showcase, and Virginia Union University. I have been learning how to read defenses better, time my throws with different receivers, and get the ball out fast by making quick decisions.
What is the strongest part of your game?
Reading defenses, timing, finding throwing windows, and not letting mistakes get me down. Everyone makes mistakes, but you can’t dwell on them.
What are your personal goals for the 2024 season?
3.5 GPA, learning a new offense, and just doing what I can to contribute to my team’s success.
What goals are you setting for your team?
Winning our conference and making a deep run in the playoffs
What is the toughest weather for you to lay in?
Definitely when it is hot.
What is the toughest type of defense to face?
Cover 6 or Palm: any defense that plays one coverage on one side and another on the other.
As a quarterback, can you let the readers know what decisions led you to throw into double coverage?
My receiver was 6'5", and when we did the scouting report, the other team had no DB’s over 5’9”. I knew if I threw high, my receiver would go up and get it, and he did. I think he was actually in triple coverage, but I had faith in him and my ball placement.
Where should the state finals be held?
Rocky River, or Canton
What has been your biggest moment as an athlete?
Being able to play three sports and getting a Varsity letter in all three
Who are your role models?
My sister is Jordan. She played soccer and made the US national team as a freshman in high school. She got injured and had four knee surgeries in high school.
and came back to play D1 soccer, being the conference freshman of the year and playing in the NCA tournament.
