What were your goals entering the 2023 season, and were you able to achieve those goals?

Our goal every year is simple: win a state championship. We fell short last season, but we are coming back stronger. My personal goals were to be a full-time starter and contribute to my team's success. I was able to start and contribute despite a few injuries that prevented me from being 100% throughout the season.

What is it like to play for Coach Pendleton?

It’s an honor playing for Coach Pendleton; he knows what it takes to be successful and play at the next level. A coach demands excellence and accepts nothing less. What makes Coach different from other coaches is that he teaches us toughness, and that’s what separates Ironton from other teams. Coach has surrounded us with some of the best staff in Ohio. He is the best coach I have ever played for.

What is the hardest part of an Ironton practice?

The hardest part about practice is playing against some of the best talent in Ohio day in and day out. We go hard with every practice. We play smash-mouth football and don’t hold back.

Who was the best team you faced last season, and what made them so good?

Harvest Prep was the best team we faced last season. They were very talented at every position.

Who is the best player you have ever faced in a game, along with the team he played for?

The best player I have played against is Chello Cox Jr. from Harvest Prep. Kid was a stud. He is a RB/LB and has great size and speed.

Looking at only the road games you have played in, which stadium has been the worst to play in, along with why it was so bad?

I would say the worst stadium I have played in is Fairland. Its grass field and the facilities in general could use an upgrade. It doesn't matter where we play; we are always locked in and do what we always do.

Staying with the road game theme, which has been the best stadium you have played in, and why was it the best?

The best stadium I have played in is Tom Benson HOF Stadium. The atmosphere at a state championship game can’t be matched.

What are your thoughts on 16 teams from each region making the playoffs?

It honestly doesn’t matter how many teams make the playoffs, but having 16 teams is a benefit because we can play a tougher schedule.

Where do you think the state finals should be held?

Definitely Ohio Stadium because of the central location.

What has been your biggest moment on the field?

My biggest moment on the field was at Marshall versus Cabell Midland. I played one of my best games.

As an athlete, what has been your most embarrassing moment as an athlete?

I can’t really think of an embarrassing moment. I don’t let my mistakes get to me. Any time I mess up, I choose to learn from it.

If you could play a game in any stadium in the nation, where would it be and why?

I would play in Ohio State’s stadium. I am an Ohio State fan.

Who is your role model?

My role models are my mom and dad. They push me every day to be not only a better athlete but also a better person. They love me unconditionally and always have my back.

Have you ever been to an Ohio State game?

No, but I plan on going this year.

What was the last book you read along with the author?

Can’t Hurt Me by David Goggins
