Post a small recap of last season with personal highlights and any other big moments you have and memories you have from last season, whether it be a game, the bus ride to or from the game, or any other thing that sticks out.
I was injured most of last season, no highlights, but I'm looking forward to a huge senior year. We could talk a lot about this injury.
How did your wrestling season go?
Wrestling season went fantastically, showing a lot of success after joining the team late, and I'm looking forward to a great season this upcoming winter.
How do you think wrestling helps you with football and how football helps you with wrestling?
I think wrestling helps me overall in football in two main ways. First and foremost, my conditioning is unreal. Wrestling conditioning is unlike anything else and put me in the best shape of my life. And the other way it helps me is simply just physicality and tackling.
How do you get over a bad game?
When getting over a bad game, I don’t necessarily like to grieve over the bad things; I like to get up and focus on the next mission. Whether that’s tuning up certain techniques or watching more film. I focus on the next play and work even harder to make what I need to happen, happen.
How does the team support each other both on and off the field?
Both off and on the field, this team is a brotherhood; we always have each other's backs, whether it’s to pick somebody up or keep them there. We have an environment we built where we all push each other to work our hardest.
What advice would you give to younger players just starting out?
To younger players starting out, I would first and foremost tell them to stay healthy and to take good care of their bodies, as my dad used to say, The best ability is availability; you can’t play if you’re injured.
What are three reasons you like being part of the football team?
One of the biggest reasons I play football other than the sport is the brotherhood. I love all of my teammates on and off the field; it’s more than just a sport to me. Another reason is my love for making plays and just overall playing well. And another amazing reason I play the game is those clutch moments with the game on the line late in the game. That adrenaline rush is unlike anything else.
What qualities make a teammate a good team captain?
There are a lot of characteristics that make a good captain and teammate. But I think the most important thing a leader on a team has to have is to be able to lead not just by example, which any good player can do, but also lead by words and be vocal. You have to be able to have both.
What was the highlight of the 2024 season?
My highlight of last season was beating Liberty on the last drive of the game in the regular season.
Which team has been the best you have faced?
I think the best team we ever played against was the 2024 Olentangy Orange. I think they had an extremely explosive offense and defense. Olentangy Liberty was good as well.
Do you think attitude is a factor in winning?
I think attitude and confidence, especially, are extremely important for individuals and as a team for winning and playing well.
Where should the state finals be?
I think the state finals shouldn’t be at Canton and rather in the Ohio State Stadium or one of the NFL teams in the area.
What is your favorite class or subject?
My favorite class subject is IB sports science.
Where is the best sit-down spot in town to get a meal?
The best sit-down meal has to be Kyushu ramen; the food is great, and the workers are awesome.
Have you gone to any Columbus Clippers games?
And it’s been quite a while since I’ve been to a Clippers game.
