Post a small recap of last season with personal highlights and any other big moments you have and/or memories you have from last season, whether it be a game, the bus ride to or from the game, or any other thing that sticks out.
Last season recap: Last year was definitely a year to remember; it was definitely the most fun out of any sports season that I’ve experienced. A couple of personal highlights from on the field for me would be the game against Miller and Fisher Catholic. Going into the game against Miller, both of us were undefeated in league play, so it was a big game. About midway through the second quarter nobody had scored, and I made a diving catch on a go ball to put us on the board. I had 93 yards and 3 TDs, and we shut out the only other undefeated team in the league. Fisher was another big game. I had around 120 yards and a touchdown, and we brought home the league championship. The bus ride home from FCA was also crazy; we were blasting music and dancing. It was a lot of fun.
With this being your final high school football season, are you approaching things differently than you have in the past?
I definitely have extra motivation this season to be even more of a leader on and off the field and be there for all the guys on the team if they need anything.
With the way college coaches look at Huddle and X, how often are you updating your pages?
Right now not that often, but during the season I’ll probably do an update once a week.
Wide receiver or cornerback, which one do you feel you are better at?
I would say I’m better at wide receiver than I am at corner.
If the game is on the line, do you want to be on offense or defense? Explain
I would rather be on offense because we work on 2-minute offense almost every day, so I think as an offense we’d be prepared for that situation.
Wide receiver or cornerback, which one is the toughest to prepare for?
Playing corner is definitely harder to prepare for because I have to study all the formations and possible plays teams run out of them. Knowing the route concepts that teams tend to run out of certain formations helps me in coverage.
What is the best and worst part of the first day of practice?
Best and worst part of the first day of practice: The best part is definitely having fun with everyone on the team, and the worst part is probably the heat.
What are your personal goals for the season?
Some of my goals are 1,000 receiving yards, first team league and district, and to make an all-Ohio team.
Who is the best player that you have faced in a game, along with the team he was on?
Cam Robinson from Worthington Christian.
Of the away stadiums that you have played in, which one had the best overall atmosphere, and what made it so good?
The best place I’ve played at was Mt. Gilead. They have a really nice sod field. It was definitely the best surface I’ve ever played on. They also had students lined up to talk trash when we walked into the stadium before the game.
Do you think that private schools have an unfair advantage over public schools?
I think it’s an even playing field. If private schools like us had an unfair advantage last year, it wouldn’t have been our first ever league title.
What is your game day routine?
I don’t do anything special; I just try to make sure I’m well hydrated and fueled during the school day so that I’m ready for the game that night.
If you earn an invite to any of the all-star games after the season, will you play?
If I got an invite, I would definitely participate.
If you could live in another period in time, what time period would it be?
If I lived in another time period, I would go back to when Jesus was here and follow him.
What is your dream job?
My dream job would be to be a wide receiver in the NFL.
What is your favorite drink or energy drink?
My favorite drink is water; staying hydrated is very important to me.
