Thoughts from Cru

Well, we went 5-5 last season, but I was on JV for the last two years. Let’s just say that I thought I did OK last year, though.

What are your goals for the 2025 season?

I think my goals for this year are to be better and stronger every day, to be a better person, teammate, and player, and to hopefully make the state playoffs.

What do you believe your best strength is as a football player?

I believe some of it comes from my heart and my family and friends cheering me on during a game.

What have you been able to accomplish during the off-season to improve your game?

I’ve been able to improve my weightlifting and my maxes really well.

Who or what got you started playing football?

My dad played football back in high school. I also like to watch the Ohio State football team on the TV, which got me wanting to accomplish one of my life goals: to play college football.

What motivates you to keep playing the game?

My family, friends, and team support me through the ups and downs of a game.

Looking at your Hudl page, you are listed as playing the following positions: C, G, T, DE, and DT. Of those positions, which one do you feel you are best at?

I would say G and DT, because I pretty much know all the basics, and I feel more comfortable with those positions.

Of those positions, which one is the hardest to prepare for?

C. Because last year I struggled to get the snaps up higher, and it made me put so much pressure on my mind, and it got me all stressed.

What is the best part of being able to play so many positions?

I believe it’s doing whatever it costs to help my team win games. W.I.C.!!!

If the game is on the line, do you want to be on offense or defense? Explain

I would have to pick offense, because I would like to be there on the field blocking a defender to not get to my QB so he can throw the ball for a TD.

As a lineman, which type of weather do you prefer to play in?

I usually prefer to play in a little bit of cloudy and warm weather. I don’t like the sun burning my eyes.

How would you get over a bad game?

Usually I would call my dad or my granny to tell them how it went, then I would get something to eat afterwards, and finally I would watch some YouTube videos or listen to music on my phone. I love listening to Shinedown and Slipknot.

Which upperclassman do you go to if you are having problems with anything football-related?

I would have to say any of my teammates. We may like to tease each other and have a little fun, but I could definitely ask some of them for some help or advice.

What is your favorite holiday?

I love Halloween and Christmas.

What is your favorite class or subject?

Social studies, because I really like learning about history.

Where is the best local spot to grab a bite?

I would have to say Millie’s Restaurant. It’s a really nice breakfast and brunch restaurant with really good pancakes, bacon, hash browns, and eggs.
